Turbulence Films is currently seeking an independent, proactive, and motivated distribution intern for the spring of 2024. The intern will commit to working 2 to 3 days per week with flexible hours. This position is fully remote. Please note that this is an unpaid internship, but school credit can be provided. There is potential for this internship to evolve into a long-term collaboration.
Internship Start Date/Season: Spring 2023
Internship Duration: 3-4 months

About the Internship:
This internship will revolve around a social justice interactive documentary filmed in a youth correctional facility in California. An interest in social justice projects is crucial for this role.
Intern will learn about:
• Documentary distribution methods (festivals, streaming platforms, broadcasters, educational distribution, etc.).
• Fundraising technics.
• Building partnerships within various sectors.
Interns will develop an extensive network within the documentary field as well as non-profit organizations, social justice advocates, academic institutions, and school administrations.
They will also participate in the necessary preparations for attending the festival circuit.
Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to attend exclusive online workshops focused on various distribution methods.
Skills Required:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in basic software applications such as Canva, AI prompting, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite.
• Social media skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a positive attitude.
Requirements:
• Available to start ASAP.
• Willing to commit to the internship for a duration of 3 to 4 months or longer.
• Must possess a laptop.
• Genuine interest in social justice, mass incarceration, and racial inequality.
