The Publicity Manager will help develop and implement strategic publicity plans for key GSN programming and initiatives. This position, based in Los Angeles, requires a candidate who is able to work well both independently and as a team player. The candidate will have strong time management skills, effectively prioritizing a number of projects at the same time, and work well under pressure and tight deadlines. The candidate must also be an excellent writer, have strong communication skills, be self-sufficient, resourceful, inquisitive, and possess a love for pop culture. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a cable television network and/or entertainment PR agency supporting TV programming and must have excellent contacts with the consumer TV press, particularly strong relationships with key TV critics and writers at the dailies and weekly publications.
In this role, the Publicity Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day publicity, press efforts and talent relations for all assigned network programs and provide PR support for all related ancillary digital and marketing initiatives. The Publicity Manager will work closely with PR team members as well as interface with key internal and external stakeholders including programming, marketing, digital, and personal publicists/managers/ agents and production companies. The candidate must be willing to travel if necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Develop and implement PR plans/timelines; create press materials including press releases, items and tune-in alerts, plus talking points/messaging docs
-Identify and pitch program-specific story angles to national and local print/digital, TV and radio, and be responsible for outreach to key TV critics, editors and writers in the top 75+ DMA markets
-Coordinate media tours and cover talent interviews
-Serve as liaison between media and/or the public and the network, its executives and talent
-Support network initiatives and events
-Support the updating of network brand information listings for media and marketing publications and manage award submissions, as needed
-Review and manage outside press releases by production companies/vendors

-Ability to take on more responsibility as programming develops
-Ideal candidate must effectively troubleshoot with an eye toward anticipating, identifying and forming strategic solutions
-Must be well-organized and possess the ability to handle a multitude of projects simultaneously
-Detail-oriented and flexibility to work on multiple projects at once
Education Qualifications:
Required Minimum: Bachelor's Degree
Experience Qualifications:
Required Minimum: 4 years in PR, Previous entertainment agency or television network experiences a must
Preferred: 5+ years in PR
