Writing Intern

Are you passionate about Japanese culture and internet savvy? Do you find yourself constantly looking for and talking about the latest cute, cool, and amazing things from Japan? Then apply to join our dedicated team! We are Kawaii Kakkoii Sugoi and we're seeking a proactive, self-driven writer for our Japanese culture blog and YouTube Channel! This person must be a team player that can work with the group to seek out the latest trend from Japan, whether it'd be food, fashion, sports, music, or Anime, and produce rich written content for articles and videos that will be viewed by a large audience. The ideal teammate has the ability to work in a fun but also fast-paced collaborative environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Please note in order to be eligible, candidates must be able to dedicate at least three days per week.
[Responsibilities]
• Write on KawaiiKakkoiiSugoi website & theKKSshow on YouTube
• Research and write about the latest trend happening within the confines of Japanese culture
• Organize and develop stories into scripts for a newscast-like show every week
• Plan and execute article/video ideas that are aligned with project goals
• Ensure all contents that you helped produced get as much traffic as possible
• Able to be concise and effective with written messages
• Engage in and encourage positive conversation with our awesome fans, building a strong, lasting relationship with the community
• Partner up with our media friends and key influencers to achieve collaborative goals
• Be self-motivated enough to work outside of the office when met with something valuable that may potentially further the blog's and channel's growth
[Required Minimum Skills]
• Effective and strong communication skills in both verbal and written form
• Must have a basic understanding of WordPress, Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and/or Google Docs.
• Familiar with Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
• Must be enthusiastic, creative, flexible, and willing to face challenges and increased responsibilities.
• Highly self-motivated to perform, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Coordinate with our media friends and partners to schedule possible interviews and/or produce rich, written contents.
• Be on set as a production assistant to support the crew in all necessary functions.
[Preferred but not required]
• Proficient in reading and writing in Japanese
• Photoshop/Illustrator Experience
• Marketing Experience
• Knowledge in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Location: West Hollywood, CA
Internship: Unpaid / College Credit
Additional Information:
• Must be 18 years or older

• Flexible with shift changes to accommodate projects and deadlines
