This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The ACME Network is still interviewing fall internship candidates. We are looking for interns to work alongside our Marketing, Community, Creative and Business Development Teams. Previous internships, work experience, social media experience, and a love for animation and the visual arts is a plus. The position is unpaid, for academic credit. The position requires strong organizational, prioritization and communications skills, the ability to handle multiple concurrent project-oriented tasks, and a pro-active, and self-starter mentality. S/he should have a strong desire to learn, a willingness to accept ownership and responsibility, and to also have a sense of urgency about their work, while maintaining accuracy and detail.
The ACME Network is a non-profit 501(C)(3) that prepares learners for the creative economy. In today's world, where visual communication is the new literacy, ACME is poised to transform education. ACME is a social network that advances learning and career-readiness via peer and professional mentoring of student animation and media projects. Our professional mentors come from Hollywood studios - such as DreamWorks, Disney, Sony, etc. -and the students we serve range in age from 13 through college and up.
Duties may include:
• Assisting with monitoring online communities
• Assisting with animation industry and alumni outreach/ events
• Research relating to artistic communities online, business models
• Writing copy
• Assistance with updating social networking sites and corporate site
• Monitoring articles on animation industry, education-technology industry
• Helping to develop online advertising Campaigns
• Monitoring posts on ACME social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter & YouTube,
Experience and Skills
S/he should have knowledge of emerging social networking technologies. S/he should have a passion for technology, social media, the arts, media content, career and technical education. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, or compatible open document formats is required.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency with multimedia, internet; creative writing skills; interest in animation/ entertainment industry
