The position is responsible for overseeing the programming of all assigned Pop-based formats and maintain relationships with outside entities related to these channels.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of Pop Music programming including the programming and scheduling of channels. Develop and implement sound programming strategies and philosophies to grow usage of the music channels while keeping the product ahead of competition in the marketplace.
• Champion Onscreen promotions for Pop format/channels; Participate in Onscreen initiatives; Work closely with Marketing and Ad-Sales on potential campaigns and sponsorships.
• Maintain and build external relationships in the music industry and related field.
• Identify external opportunities that may enhance Pop programming on the Music Channels.
• Seek and secure opportunities for Music Choice in the associated music genre clusters through attending award events, conferences, panels, etc. which will leverage MC’s exposure and branding efforts.
Qualifications
• Excellent Selector Scheduling Software knowledge (or equivalent software); ability to build formats and refine as necessary
• B.A. or equivalent experience including 5+ years of music programming
• Strong music industry relationships/contacts
• Complete knowledge of pop music, pop culture and lifestyles.
• Computer literate
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and possess excellent communication skills. Ideally will possess complete knowledge of pop music and pop culture. Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.
