Are you ready to take your social media content production skills to the next level? The Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking an outstanding and passionate teammate to help expand our social media reach. Since 2009, the Thunder has built a social media following of more than 20 million worldwide. We are consistently in the upper echelon in the NBA in followers and engagement, and our diverse fan base is both dedicated and passionate.
As a valued member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in bringing media strategies to life throughout all areas of the business! You will work Thunder home games, away games (as needed), and community events and support content creation, scheduling, reporting, and analysis. Your skills in collaboration and listening will be instrumental as you collaborate with various departments to generate content ideas and ensure alignment with organizational objectives through the power of social media. The Social Media Content Producer is an entry level, full-time, non-exempt position. Primary work location will be on-site at the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City at Paycom Center.
In this role you will:
• Support the success and growth of Thunder social media across various platforms including accounts associated with the Thunder's mascot, team shop, thunder cares, OKC thunder entertainers, El Thunder and G League team
• Monitor activity across all social platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube
• Analyze and create reports on the effectiveness of social media campaigns to keep the organization and partners informed
• Assist the department with communications and collaboration on campaigns and deliverables
• Monitor social media trends, current news, and popular culture to adapt strategies to increase reach and engagement
• Assist in the creation of content for our social audience using photography, vertical video content creation, video editing tools, including new mobile-specific software or apps that are geared towards specific mobile platforms
• Build a strong familiarity with an understanding of Thunder culture, Oklahoma City, and act as both a brand ambassador to determine content strategy for entertainment groups such as the Thunder Girls, Rumble, Thunder Drummers, etc.
• Identify new opportunities to demonstrate the value of the Thunder brand to build effective, measurable outreach programs when it comes to social media, particularly with global audiences and co-branded or sponsored content
• Assist with paid advertising campaigns and the organization of related elements
• Other duties or projects as assigned
What you'll bring to the role:
• Proven experience for social media and broad knowledge of platforms, trends, and tools, ideally in the sports or entertainment industry
• Equivalent relevant work or military experience, along with a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in digital marketing or social media
• A digital portfolio showcasing your creative work with writing and/or photography required
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish or Mandarin is a plus
• Photography, social publishing and videography (pre-production and post-production) experience is a plus
• Detailed oriented with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and balance demands in a time sensitive-setting
• Self-motivated and detailed, whether working independently or collaboratively to meet organizational goals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with solid editing skills
• Keen eye for detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficient working with all social platforms including analytic tools and effective strategies
• Extensive knowledge of applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Creative suite, with an emphasis on Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, and After Effects
Additional details:
Driver's license and sound driving record are required as some travel may be required, occasionally including overnight trips. Flexible schedule including office hours, weekends and holidays for game nights and events. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager, Social Media.
