This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Internship Duration: Monday, August 21st - Thursday, December 7th, 2023
If you are interested in the music industry and gaining hands-on experience in client management, Mezz Entertainment's internship in Artist Management and Promotion is a great opportunity for you. Through our internship program, students will gain hands-on experience managing and promoting clients for performance opportunities, brand collaborations, interviews, and press. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with two weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication. This department is divided into 3 sub departments as described below:
Public Relations
Interns will:
• Promote artists to radio outlets, podcasts, online magazines, and blogs
• Create press releases and promotion material
• Develop and maintain contacts throughout music and entertainment industry
• Effectively research and pitch clients to ideal platforms
Brand Partnerships
Interns will:
• Find and research new and exciting brands
• Pitch clients to brands that align with clients image
• Maintain and develop relationships with contacts
• Help land brand partnership deals for clients
• Listen in on brand deal calls and takes notes for client manager
• Gain experience in negotiating
Artist Bookings
Interns will:
• Find and research clubs/bars/venues
• Pitch artist to clubs/bars/venues
• Help land gigs and book artist for shows
• Listen in on booking calls and take notes for client manager
Qualifications and Requirements for all Artist Management and Promotion Departments:
• Knowledge and experience with social media a must
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research skills
• Self directed independent workers with unmatched work ethics who enjoy being a part of a team
• Hold a degree or currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, music business, or similar field
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Plan to pursue a career in music/entertainment industry or public relations
Time Commitment and Location:
This internship program is remote (with optional in-person opportunities) and requires a minimum 12 hour per week commitment. Artist Management and Promotion interns will attend two weekly meetings over Zoom. Department meetings are 30-45 minutes and team meetings are an hour to an hour and a half long.
Please keep Monday through Thursday evenings (Eastern Time) open as meeting hours are subject to vary throughout the semester
