About the Show

The foremost authority on breaking entertainment news since its debut more than 26 years ago, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT is the #1 syndicated entertainment newsmagazine in the world.  The show entered its 27th season on September 10, 2007.

Since its inception, ET has broadcast more than 7,800 shows, a television milestone by any standard.  Widely regarded as a staple of American culture and the "most-watched entertainment newsmagazine in the world," ET is a broadcast phenomenon with U.S. versions appearing in China, France and Australia. Canada has its own version of the show.

Over the years, ET has earned a reputation for covering the entertainment industry with a steady stream of news stories on celebrities, film, television, music, fashion, award shows and special events in a trend-setting, groundbreaking format.  By virtually creating the genre, ET paved the way for news outlets the world over to cover entertainment news.  As the undisputed industry leader, ET regularly enjoys the status of being "first" with celebrity news and has earned the reputation as a safe harbor for stars to tell their stories and "set the record straight" about their lives.

Under the leadership of executive producer Linda Bell Blue,Linda Bell Blue ET's talented on-air personalities include anchor Mary Hart, who begins her 26th season this year; anchor Mark Steines, who begins his 12th season this year; Jann Carl, who in her 13th season and serves as weekend anchor and primary substitute anchor; Kevin Frazier, who enters his fourth season as weekend anchor and correspondent; respected film historian and correspondent Leonard Maltin, who begins his 26th season this year; correspondent, style maven Steven Cojocaru who begins his fifth season; and correspondent Thea Andrews who begins her second season.

Comprised of breaking news stories, exclusive set visits, first looks at upcoming film and television projects, as well as candid, one-on-one interviews with Hollywood's greatest talents and celebrities, ET's regular segments include the "ET Newslink," a quick round up of the day's biggest stories, "The Story From Stage 28," a lengthier analysis of Hollywood's hottest topics; "The ET Download," a daily dose of the most talked about headlines from Hollywood and "About Last Night," a wrap up of the big entertainment industry events from the night before.

A previous daily feature entitled "The Insider," which gave the scoop on inside Hollywood info, was spun off in 2004 into its own stand alone nightly, entertainment newsmagazine of the same name.  It premiered as the highest-rated debut of any newsmagazine in syndication since 1996 and continues to rank second only to ET in the genre. The highly rated "power hour" of ET and "The Insider," where the two shows run back-to-back, airs in 47 markets across the country.

ET has been the #1 syndicated newsmagazine for the past 64 consecutive sweeps (totaling 17 years), #1 among homes, #1 among adults 18-49 and #1 among adults 25-54.  As the leading force in entertainment news, ET has been renewed through 2012.
