PR Manager (Corporate Communications)
The Orchard is looking for an experienced and clever communicator to join our global Corporate Communications team. The Manager, Corporate Communications will lead strategies that enhance The Orchard's public profile and key messaging via an informed, amplified voice in media including press coverage, industry events, speaking engagements, as well as external and internal communications and client-focused initiatives. The role is essential to enhancing the communications department goals and coordinating with other departments to ensure overall brand visibility. The Manager, Corporate Communications is a hybrid position based in NYC at The Orchard's global headquarters and reports to the Senior Director, Global Corporate Communications.
What you'll do
• Plan and execute engaging communications initiatives that support The Orchard's internal and external strategic priorities
• Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with key editors, journalists, bloggers, and influencers at global business, trade and consumer outlets
• Drive senior leadership visibility by identifying, securing and executing strategic media engagements
• Regularly pitch story ideas aligning with company goals and select client initiatives
• Create and service communications materials including press releases, pitches, talking points, internal comms materials, etc.
• Assist in developing important corporate messaging
• Provide coaching and guidance to the leadership team when necessary
• Secure and manage speaking engagements (industry conferences, educational opportunities, etc.) for executives and global staff
• Execute seasonal newsletter to media, maintain weekly reports, daily news updates and additional items as directed
• Elevate internal and external company events, coordinate conference participation as well as potential sponsorships
• Identify and evaluate music industry-related data including trends, current events, hot topics, etc. in a meaningful way
• Collaborate closely with the brand marketing team, assuring clear, consistent, and compelling messaging
• Maintain close relationship with umbrella corporate communications department; uphold and enforce guidelines
Who you are
• 4 years of music industry corporate communications or public relations experience and the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
• Strong understanding of the music media and PR landscape
• Established relationships with reporters
• Experience creating and executing press campaigns
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; business writing experience preferred
• Proven effective relationship builder and collaborator
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multitask, meet tight deadlines and stay focused under pressure
• Solid project management capabilities
• Highly proficient ability to think both analytically and creatively
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
• Experience with media monitoring and press release distribution services
• Discretion and experience handling sensitive/confidential information
• Experience with social media and content creation a plus
• Tech-savvy with facility to learn and use new platforms and programs
• Passionate about independent music

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

$70,000 — $85,000 USD
