VMI Worldwide is a leading independent film production, sales, and distribution company based in Los Angeles. We specialize in producing, acquiring, selling, and distributing high-quality independent films in the global marketplace.
We are currently seeking a Business & Legal Affairs Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a law student interested in entertainment law to gain hands-on experience in the independent film industry. Interns will have the chance to work closely with various departments and develop a well-rounded understanding of the business from a legal perspective.
Responsibilities
Assist in drafting and reviewing various agreements
Organize, manage, and maintain legal documents, databases, and informational charts
Conduct legal research on specialized topics within entertainment law
Review and advise on legal materials related to films, such as chain-of-title, talent agreements, and third-party obligations
Provide administrative support to the Business & Legal Affairs team as needed
Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited law school (J.D. or LL.M.)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe, Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of or prior experience in independent film is a plus but not required
Familiarity with FilmTrack is preferred but not mandatory
Internship Details
Commitment: minimum of 12-week internship (part-time)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid/in-person in Los Angeles
A daily stipend will be provided for in-person workdays
