Visual Designer

This is a Full Time Job

Whalerock Industries is looking for a Visual Designer. The Visual Designer at Whalerock Industries plays a critical role in designing world-class digital experiences that are both innovative and a delight to use. You’ll be actively involved in every step of the creative process, and will be mentored and supported by the Creative Director, Art Directors, and other designers.

The ideal candidate…

Will…
• Provide the thinking, creativity, and execution required to deliver project design deliverables
• Brainstorm creative concepts, develop those concepts into a refined direction, and implement the design direction into all required aspects of the project
• Work within a multidisciplinary team and will be required to articulate design rationale and make effective design presentations
• Be called upon to refine and enhance existing Whalerock Industries brand experiences, and assisting other designers when necessary

Is…
• Able to think conceptually
• Understanding of Graphic Design Fundamentals
• Effective in communication skills
• Understanding of industry standard programming languages
• Able to rapid-prototype design concepts
• Enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude

Has…
• BFA or BA in Graphic Design, Digital Media Design, or other applied art, or equivalent professional experience
• 1 years relevant industry experience (agency experience preferred)
• Proven understanding of Graphic Design Fundamentals
• Solid grasp of User Interface and User Experience Design
• Mastery of design-related software and tools
• Ability to work in teams and independently • Ability to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines
• Strong design-centric portfolio showcasing commercial work
