Spring Intern - Film Distribution/Research

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

7th Art Releasing is looking for an intern. We are an award-winning, full-service distributor with a focus on documentaries. Our films have Emmys, Oscars, Independent Spirit Awards, Sundance, SXSW, and more. We handle all aspects of distribution from festival to theatrical to digital and broadcast.

Our interns learn the nuts and bolts of film distribution all with an eye toward how independent films are released out into the world. We are based in Northeast Los Angeles and our films reach the farthest corners of the globe. Our interns get to be involved in making that happen. Some of the most common areas that interns get involved in are:

• Research & market preparation (film festival and non-theatrical exhibition venues)
• Marketing and outreach through traditional campaigns
• Assets Management

Internship Start Date/Season: Anytime
Internship Duration: Minimum 3 months

Time/Days Required:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (minimum 2 days a week; minimum 6 hours a day)

Workplace Requirements:
• On-site internship preferred
• College credit preferred
• A great attitude is key as well as strong Mac, internet, and general office skills. We look for interns who are responsible self-starters with a desire to learn the business and prefer those interested in independent films and documentaries. No prior experience is required, but interns must be fluent in English.
