BERKELEY REPERTORY THEATRE announces fellowships for the 2010-11 season. Berkeley Rep provides a year-long fellowship program for serious-minded, highly motivated individuals ready to embark upon a professional theatre career. As the 1997 Tony Award Recipient for outstanding regional theatre, Berkeley Rep has established a national reputation for the quality of its productions and the innovation of its programming. Fellows are directly exposed to the Theatre's daily operations and given the opportunity to provide support for the award-winning company's ambitious body of work. Berkeley Rep seeks applicants who have acquired basic training and experience in their field and are ready for the next step toward a career in professional theatre. Ideal candidates should be willing to engage in the creative process, eager to test the limits of their own ingenuity, and ready to join a professional, artistic community. 11-month commitment; fellowships generally begin in August. Monthly allowance to cover expenses and limited housing available. The following fellowships are available: Bret C. Harte directing/artistic administration, company/theatre management, costumes, development/fundraising, education, graphics/web/publications, lighting/electrics, marketing/box office, Peter Sloss literary/dramaturgy, production management, properties, scenic art, scenic construction, sound, and stage management.
