What does our department do?
The Health unit of CNN produces documentaries, news pieces, and web content along with investigative pieces reported by Dr. Sanjay Gupta in partnership with various CNN teams and shows including, the Investigative and Documentary teams, as well as prime time shows Erin Burnett OutFront and Anderson Cooper 360. The Dr. Gupta programs and reports provide in depth reporting on health and medical topics by utilizing strong production values combined with long form storytelling.
What will you be doing?
Interns have the opportunity to participate in every aspect of television production: from pitching story ideas to developing a concept for a longer form series. From setting up shoots to gathering editorial and video materials, from the script writing process through edit. Interns shadow and assist editorial staff. Basic duties include: gathering and dubbing video, transcribing tape, organizing visual elements, basic story research and fact-checking. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend local shoots and assist edit staff with tape producing. Knowledge of public health and medical content is preferred and experience in the area of medicine is valued greatly.

Candidates should be passionate about news, self-motivated, able to multitask, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in fast paced, high volume environment.

Program dates are January 22nd through April 20th.
Interns are paid at least minimum wage ($13/hour), up to 20 hours/week, and relocation is not provided.
Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation. Applicants should be a rising sophomore status or greater.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to starting the internship
