This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Internship Program Description: This position will be working in the marketing division of the athlete management department at the Wasserman Media Group in the Los Angeles office. This division actively prospects paid opportunities/partnerships for athletes that fall under team sports. This intern will help create target lists, research specific markets and or brands, assist in setting up meetings/calls with decision makers and other tasks pertaining to athlete marketing. Intern will report to the Manager of Athlete Marketing, Team Sports.
Educational Benefit to Student: Interns will attain a rewarding learning experience by interning for a large sports/entertainment company, as well as learning important sales techniques to succeed in business. They will make connections with industry leaders and obtain exposure to the strategies behind business development and marketing in sports.
Duties:
• Performs various departmental support tasks, such as: creating target lists, making cold calls, researching brands/markets, updating calendars, special projects and tasks that are both short and long-term in nature, etc.
• Conduct research on prospective brands for athlete endorsements & paid appearances.
• Assists the executives and staff with daily tasks.
• Assists as necessary with the different marketing strategies of clients and prospecting relevant brands.
• Assist department as necessary with special projects or tasks.
Skills/Qualifications:
• College Degree currently in progress, preferably majoring in a sports-related field.
• Passion for sports and business.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Well-developed communication, organizational and time management skills, as well as basic administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
• Articulate, excellent communication and diplomacy skills to resolve client issues.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Displays indications of being loyal and trustworthy with the organization and clients.
• Well developed analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to build strong and lasting relationships.
