Work Locations: With the exception of some select roles that have in-office requirements, A+E Networks operates on a flexible model that allows for remote, hybrid or full time in office work (in certain locales).
Office locations include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Stamford, CT.

Job Description
Position Summary: VP, Global Content Licensing, L&BA
The VP, Global Content Licensing will provide senior level legal support and advice to the Global Content Licensing and Digital business divisions (including digital advertising sales and advertising operations), and related matters.
Primary Duties: VP, Global Content Licensing, L&BA
• Negotiate, draft and review a wide variety of agreements related to A+E's global content licensing business for A+E's owned and operated platforms/services and third-party platforms, including agreements related to licenses for various rights (linear and/or video-on-demand including, FAST, AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, and EST/DTO) and distribution (e.g., streaming or mobile), content creation, content delivery platforms and partners for products such as FAST channels, including related technology and advertising agreements.
• Responsible for negotiating, drafting and reviewing various agreements related to our digital business, including our direct-to-consumer applications (e.g., History Vault) and content licensing on social platforms.
• Maintain team documents and trackers, and other resources related to key partners, including deal summaries, industry overviews, and marketplace summaries informing legal updates and deal strategies.
• Work closely with L&BA colleagues (e.g., Rights and Clearances, S&P, Talent, Privacy, Risk, Corporate, etc.), other peers (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Tax, etc.) and senior management in performing the above responsibilities, including to help analyze, review and summarize terms from various contracts, and provide on-going business advice on related matters as needed.
• Potential to manage paralegal and/or junior attorney.
Requirements: VP, Global Content Licensing, L&BA
• JD Degree
• Member in good standing of NY or California State Bar will be considered.
• At least 12 years of legal transactional experience handling extensive intellectual property, licensing and/or digital media at either a major law firm, digital media and/or streaming company as in-house counsel.
• At least 10 years of experience and knowledge in digital media, content licensing (domestic and international), linear and on-demand rights and distribution.
• Ability to handle large volume of complex transactional matters involving licensing and distribution.
• Must be able to work across various time zones, including USA, Europe and Asia.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have: VP, Global Content Licensing, L&BA
• At least 10 years of experience supporting digital media in television, including in-house at media company or streaming platform. Privacy and Data security experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of the media landscape, new technologies and current trends.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills (including ability to prioritize workflow, problem solve complex issues and offer practical and creative solutions), and clear and effective communication skills required.
• Strategic thinking and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build consensus, make informed decisions, manage multiple areas of responsibility, and drive results.
• Proven track record of people management and leadership to inspire and motivate others with a focus on cross-functional collaboration in a complex, global organization.
• Analytical thinker capable of evaluating complex information breaking it down into parts, assessing risk, and capable of making recommendations.
• Must be highly organized to be able to handle high volume of work in fast paced environment, detail oriented, collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, accountability and make decisions.
CompensationAnnual Pay Range: $246,956 - $288,939Annual Incentive Target: 25.00%
The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the
minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will
be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills,
competencies, location, and experience. A+E offers a competitive total compensation
package, which includes healthcare coverage, 401k matching, and a range of other benefits.
