Paid Intern - Record Royalty

This is a Part Time Paid Internship

ABKCO Music & Records, Inc., a New York-based company, is currently searching for a Record Royalty Intern (in-person and remote) to support the royalty team. The ideal candidate would be a current senior or a recent college graduate who has majored in Music Business or Accounting and is passionate about learning all aspects of the music business. Previous work experience in Royalty is preferred.
Previous work experience in the music or entertainment industry is a plus. Dependability, commitment, and professional demeanor are incredibly important. Overtime is necessary during the royalty processing periods (January, February, July, and August).
The royalty intern will support the royalties team in the following areas, including, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
• Gathering and organizing supporting documentation for royalty receipts and following up with various payees.
• Download and summarize royalty statements
• Combine and format large electronic datasets
• Maintain organization of electronic files and folders
• Sending out emails and responding to email correspondence
• Special projects as needed
Requirements
• Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and formulas (such as VLOOKUP and IF) Must have an impeccable eye for detail
• A genuine interest in the music business and royalties
• Understanding of mathematical and accounting principles
• Be a self-motivated and detail-oriented analytical thinker
• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be a team player and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to keep information highly confidential
• Familiar with royalty terminology, processes, and various reporting a plus
