
Summer Intern - Documentary Editing

AFTER HOURS PRODUCTIONS, led by acclaimed filmmaker Joshua Zeman (CROPSEY, Netflix's SONS OF SAM, MURDER MOUNTAIN, Amazon's THE KILLING SEASON, Hulu's THE LONELIEST WHALE, Tribeca 2024's CHECKPOINT ZOO), is seeking a highly organized and motivated Editing Intern to join our team.
If you have editing experience and are interested in documentary production/true crime, this is the perfect opportunity to gain professional experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting our editing team in compiling sizzles, trailers, and other video exports.
• Downloading/ingesting archival footage from various Internet sources.
• Transcribing interviews/creating time-coded scripts to accompany exports.
• Various administrative work related to file organization and more.
Time Commitment:
10-20 hours per week. Normal daytime hours, but can be adjusted for the applicant's respective timezone.
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: August 2025 (Flexible)
Qualifications:
PREFERRED BUT NOT NECESSARY:
• Experience working with/access to AVID (STRONGLY PREFERRED).
• Research experience.
• Basic Photoshop/graphic design experience.
• Interest in documentary filmmaking/true crime.
NECESSARY:
• Access to editing software and prior editing experience
• Proficiency in Google Drive, Slack, and phone-based communication.
• Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
• Highly organized.
• Strong communication skills.
As a small team of independent filmmakers, our interns get the opportunity to learn all facets of film development, production, and distribution, and are intimately involved in the process. This is an unpaid, fully remote position.
