The Rights & Clearance Administrator supports the needs of WE tv original programming by assisting in review of rights and clearances related delivery materials for all original programming series and specials. This position is responsible for supporting in rights-related matters including: production deliverables materials, music cue sheet submission, international delivery materials, clip licensing support, aid in tracking of contractual rights for programming and talent, and support in Rights Logic database entry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support Director of Rights & Clearances in review of all ''paper'' delivery items for series, including all rights documents and binders, music and location clearances, etc.
2. Support Director of Rights & Clearances in screening cuts of series and specials to ensure all clearance paperwork is present
3. Oversee all music cue sheet submissions to ASCAP, BMI & SESAC. Duties include: review of all music cue sheets submitted by production companies, submission to performing rights societies through Rapid Cue system and setting up new users on RapidCue system
4. Reporting music cue uses to various stock music companies (in which we have blanket deals in place)
5. Tracking all theme songs (including correct composer and publisher information) used in each production
6. Compilation and delivery of all metadata (scripts, synopses, promotional photos, music cue sheets, credits) to international distributor
7. Creating and delivering DVD screeners for use in domestic clip licensing and international distribution
8. Tracking and sending of all delivery materials to off-site storage
9. Assisting in the entry of ''rights-in'' and ''rights out information into rights management database (Rights Logic)
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in rights and clearance for a television production company or entertainment network, with direct experience in reviewing various agreements and releases.
3. Proficient in MS Word and Excel
4. Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-sufficient
5. Ability to prioritize and multi-task
6. Excellent written communication skills and issue spotting
7. Ability to be forward-thinking and able to identify rights and clearance related issues
8. Ability to review and analyze contractual language and legalese
