Location: Hybrid, St. Paul, MN.
Expected Compensation Range: $24.32/hour - $29.23/0 / hourly. The exact rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.

Your Role:
The People and Culture Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the management and administration of employee benefits programs, supporting payroll processing, providing compensation analysis, and maintaining employee records. This role also offers general HR support, ensuring compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). Additionally, the position supports recruitment and onboarding processes, as well as employee offboarding. This role supports operations across multiple states, including Minnesota and California.
Your Responsibilities
Benefits Administration Support:
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, and claims.
• Track benefits billing and ensure accurate processing and timely payments.
• Assist in managing employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
Compensation Analysis:
• Participate in salary surveys and compensation benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices.
• Assist in the analysis of compensation data, recommending adjustments as needed to align with market trends.
Payroll Processing Support:
• Support payroll processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment for employees.
• Review timekeeping data and assist with resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure proper tax withholding, benefits deductions, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
HRIS Support:
• Maintain and update employee records in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
• Assist with system upgrades and process improvements to streamline HR processes.
Invoicing & Billing:
• Review and process department invoices for accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure correct billing.
General Human Resource Support:
• Assist with general HR tasks, including preparing reports, maintaining records, and conducting audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to payroll, benefits, and compensation.
• Ensure compliance with CBA requirements, including union notices
• Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Assists with onboarding and offboarding including, completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
• Maintain employment files to include both paper (personnel, benefits and terminations) and electronic. Ensure that employee files are organized and in compliance with federal and state laws. As requested assist in HR audit related to employee files.
• Process termination paperwork ensuring that departing employees are paid in a timely fashion and that employees are eliminated from all appropriate systems
Qualifications:
• Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-4 years of experience in HR, benefits, compensation, payroll, or related functions.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze data and create reports.
• Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, UKG, Success Factors)
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compensation practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• High degree of discretion and confidentiality, a professional attitude and demeanor, and the ability to exercise sound judgment with a high degree of sensitivity.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with payroll processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of compensation salary surveys and benchmarking tools.
• Completed or pursuing certification in compensation or payroll (e.g., CCP, CPP)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
