Job Title: Morning Edition Producer

#### Job Description:
Southern California Public Radio is seeking a producer to oversee LAist's local broadcast of Morning Edition and The L.A. Report a.m. edition podcast. The producer will collaborate with the host and news team to produce high-quality content that meets the station’s editorial and production standards.
Responsibilities:
• Plan daily coverage with the host and news team, ensuring content is timely and essential.
• Research and book newsmakers, write news items for the host and LAist.com.
• Oversee show production and ensure sound quality meets editorial standards.
• Monitor social media for news updates and direct associate producers and interns.
• Edit and prepare audio content for broadcast, ensuring readiness for air.
• Collaborate with the digital team to enhance daily news products.
• Train interns and new producers as needed.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of production, editorial, or related experience.
• Knowledge of local, national, and international news.
• Digital audio editing and field production skills.
• Proven leadership, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
• Experience working effectively under pressure with a team.
Working Conditions:
• Moderate noise levels; extended periods sitting or moving within the office and community.
• Varied shifts, including occasional exposure to prevalent weather conditions.
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $34.61 - $41.53, based on experience and organizational equity.
