Job Summary:
This role is responsible for supporting the State Farm Arena Facilities and Operations Team in achieving Zero Waste. Additionally, the role provides strategic sustainable solutions to better inform operations and maintenance (O&M) and to better manage facilities, assets, utilities, and the ''Hawk's material supply chain''. By monitoring the Hawk's environmental impact at all times, this role will ensure the collection of data and the implementation changes necessary to successfully operate a ZEROWASTE arena.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a Quality and Assurance officer (Q&A) for our sustainability and zero waste efforts.
• Coach and support the Uniform and Housekeeping leadership teams to effectively manage their operations and all related expenses
• Analyze and reduce overall operational costs as needed
• Set and communicate daily operational objectives, expectations and create awareness around the department and business objectives with zero waste and energy conservation
• Operate as the direct liaison between State Farm Arena and environmental services to ensure the proper levels of cleanliness
• Work alongside other departments/ teams to flawlessly provide services needed.
• Resolve guest concerns and complaints
• Create a Sustainability Management Plan (SMP) that includes the short, mid, and long-term goals and accompanied by the appropriate training documents
• Educate and train team members on sustainability programs and initiatives
• Create and maintain a sustainability database that organizes pertinent Hawk's use-data.
• Regularly research, brainstorm and recommend sustainable solutions, independently and collaboratively, including developing technologies
• Collect, analyze, report, and present data supporting sustainable solutions
• Coordinate sustainability efforts with the appropriate external and internal stakeholders and departments.
• Prepare regular progress reports and updates to senior management.
• Track and manage our diversion rate and execute waste audits
• Contribute to the development of campaigns that advertise and market Hawk's sustainability practices.

Qualifications:
• Must be a self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision and able to initiate work when needed.
• Must be able to produce high level reports and analysis with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to grasp concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be highly organized and able to exercise good judgment in prioritizing work and balancing multiple tasks.
• Must be able to maintain discretion and confidence as this position will have access to sensitive information.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Familiar with federal, state, and local grant application requirements and processes.
• Familiar with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• GBCI True Waste Advisor Certification is preferred
• General knowledge of sustainability (e.g., waste, natural resources, renewable energies, thermodynamics, health and wellness)
• Waste, recycling, and compost management
• Integrating sustainability into facility and asset management, operations, and maintenance for large organizations
• Collecting and analyzing cross-departmental data.
• Developing technical reports, proposals, presentations, budgets, and timelines/schedules
• Creating and executing plans, programs, presentations, strategies, and training sessions.
• Experience interacting with all colleagues at all levels of an organization.
• Must have a working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite applications.
• Experience using Blue Beam and ArcGIS is preferred
