What the College Park Skyhawks Communications Seasonal Assistant will be responsible for:
• Create and distribute single-game and season long credentials, along with food vouchers, for media, TV crew, entertainment, stats crew, agents, and guests for all Skyhawks home games.
• Hand out media credentials at the media entrance beginning 3 hours prior to tip-off
• Distribute box scores to Skyhawks bench and media during timeouts, halftime and postgame
• Facilitate halftime and postgame player walk offs for interviews with TV and arena entertainment
• Help gather players for postgame press conference with media
• Assist PR Coordinator with creation of game notes, postgame recaps, and additional publications
• Other duties as assigned
What the College Park Skyhawks Communications Seasonal Assistant needs to have:
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including game days/nights, holidays, and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department
• Junior, Senior or graduate level college students
• Academic and/or work experiences related to one or more of the following: Journalism, Communications, Sports Management or Public Relations
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
• Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
• Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over
• Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes
