Position: Production Assistant
Location: Rehearsals in Glendale, CA. Tech & Performances at Boston Court Pasadena in Pasadena, CA.
Production Dates: Rehearsals begin April 27, 2025 | Tech/Performances June 10-15, 2025
Compensation: Unpaid (Academic credit and reference letters available)
About the Production:
My Brother's Keeper is an upcoming production at Boston Court Pasadena, and we are seeking a dedicated, hardworking intern to join our team as a Production Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in theatre production, working with a professional team and supporting all aspects of rehearsal, backstage, and performance operations.
Responsibilities:
The Production Assistant will report to the Assistant and Production Stage Manager, assisting with a wide variety of administrative, logistical, and technical tasks to support the production team. The position offers valuable training with the potential to advance into Assistant Stage Management or Production Stage Management roles.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Administrative Support:
• Maintain and update scripts.
• Organize and manage paperwork, schedules, and communication.
• Assist with budget tracking and expense management.
Rehearsal Support:
• Assist the director and stage manager during rehearsals.
• Take notes and document rehearsal progress.
• Prepare and organize rehearsal materials.
Backstage Logistics:
• Organize backstage areas, ensuring safety and tidiness.
• Assist with prop and set changes.
• Guide cast and crew throughout the theatre.
• Liaise with production management and other departments.
General Tasks:
• Run errands and procure necessary supplies.
• Assist with any tasks delegated by the stage manager.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude and contribute to the collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
• Relevant experience in theater production or stage management (preferred).
• Must be based in the Los Angeles area with reliable transportation.
• Availability on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, committing a minimum of 6 hours per week (more hours can be committed if desired).
• Availability for tech rehearsals and performances, June 10-15, 2025.
• Must be a proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated individual with a passion for theatre.
