About the Production
On the evening of his 29th birthday, Abel reminisces about the painful memories of his family's past, the life and death of his late brother, David, and the writings of his late brother's secret lover, Jono. Abel searches through the past to find courage in the present, all while his faith hangs in the balance.
About the Role
Bethesda Repertory Theatre is seeking a Lighting Designer for our upcoming production of My Brother's Keeper at Boston Court Pasadena. This is a great opportunity for both experienced designers and emerging artists looking to build their portfolio in a professional setting. University students are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Director and production team to design and implement the lighting vision for the show
• Devote a minimum of 2 hours per week for planning, meetings, and pre-production work leading up to tech rehearsals
• Be present for technical rehearsals on June 11 & 12 and available during the production period
• Assist in overseeing the setup, focusing, and cueing of lights in coordination with the theatre's technical staff
Requirements
• Theatre lighting experience (academic or professional)
• Ability to work independently and creatively within budget and venue constraints
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Must submit a portfolio showcasing previous lighting design work
