The Bethesda Big Train is seeking college and graduate school students to assist the GM/Head Coach for the summer 2025 season. Interns may rotate between several different roles on game day. Intern will also represent the organization in other roles at various community events. Ability to problem-solve is highly prized. This internship is designed to give students real-life sport industry experience. Ideal candidates are outgoing, self-starting, hard-working and are willing to work in a variety of capacities.
Interning with Big Train offers educational and networking opportunities, and course credit is available for college students.
Qualifications:
College or graduate student
Ability to work night and weekend events in June and July
Outgoing and willing to engage in conversation with strangers
Customer service background preferred
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Attend all Big Train Home and Away games
Assist Big Train coaches with set-up and post-game procedures and any other duties as assigned
Primary:
• Support the Manager of Big Train in day-to-day functions.
• Assist in the operation of Big Train both on and off the field.
• Develop and maintain a database of all College contacts, teams, leagues throughout region.
• Assist/Schedule all Big Train activity in the community.
• Assist with the planning and execution of all Big Train camps, clinics, etc.
• Visit local games to engage with players, coaches, and fans with Big Train players and/or mascots.
• Available and ability to work gamedays as needed throughout the summer season.
• Support the team in all large-scale events.
• Tasks/projects as assigned by the Executive Director of Big Train Charities and Community Engagement.
• Assist with daily field and facility maintenance during the week.
• Inventory
• Schedule Camp Counselors and Before and After Care workers
• Schedule Back Ground Checks for all employees
• Developing Camp Rosters
• Schedule Home and Away pre game meals
• Prepare/ Gather reports from Trackman/Pointstreak Interns
The internship includes payment of $2,000.00.
Starts May 28, 2025 - August 1, 2025
