Bleacher Report Kicks Social Programmer I (Temporary)
Location: New York, New York, United States of America
Your New Role...
B/R Kicks is seeking a Programmer I, Kicks to be responsible for daily social programming and curation of B/R Kicks across all social media platforms and the B/R App. This individual is responsible for covering breaking news, identifying and curating evergreen UGC, community building and management across all platforms and creating short-form, personality-forward social videos.
An ideal candidate would be described as someone that is a fast learner, hustles like crazy, has ideas and isn't afraid to share them or push the voice in new exciting directions. The ideal candidate is fluent in all things sneakers and demonstrated experience programming on TikTok, including editing.
The Programmer I, Kicks will work cross-functionally, collaborating with B/R and House of Highlights programmers, content, design, production, and other key initiatives and alongside partners in the sneaker industry.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Be a master of finding UGC and new content first • • Lead day-to-day programming across all B/R Kicks social platforms and the B/R App by identifying, sourcing, evaluating, and posting breaking news and viral hits in sneakers, sports, and relevant pop culture
• Daily news monitoring to discover and curate evergreen content and UGC that aligns with B/R Kicks brand pillars
• Think creatively about original content opportunities to create more of what we curate
• Discover new and emerging external creators and implement ways to collaborate on video executions
• Execute basic photo and video editing on relevant social platforms
• Collaborate with the programming staff in new content idea generation and platform learnings
• This role may require the employee to appear on-camera and have their voice used on video as needed (as mutually agreed upon)
• Think creatively about new opportunities to create more of what we curate – identify emerging formats and packaging tactics that can help B/R Kicks grow in differentiated ways
• Work closely with other programmers to check copy and properly distribute content
Qualifications and Experiences...
• Extensive knowledge of sneaker culture, streetwear, fashion, and sports
• High level social media understanding and proficiency using Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Threads, the B/R App, and other emerging social media platforms
• Experience being on-camera for short-form social video formats and personality-driven live streams
• Possesses strong hook writing and communication skills
• Candidate should be familiar with basic photo and video editing
• Deep understanding of TikTok-native and IG-native content, trends and creators
• Good understanding for NBA, NBA Twitter and basketball culture as it pertains to sneakers, fashion and culture.
• A strong understanding of Bleacher Reports Kicks, Bleacher Report and House of Highlights' voice and brands
• Extensive knowledge of internet culture
• Experience with social content discovery and an interest in emerging social platforms
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• 1-2 years of professional social media experience
• Salary range: $27 - 30 hourly
