DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Red Sox Brand & Creative team drives the direction and execution for overall team brand campaigns, advertising, content, and social & digital direction on Red Sox channels. We balance the classic feel of the Sox brand, with an ever-evolving digital footprint of the team on all digital platforms.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As part of the Red Sox Brand & Creative group, the Assistant Staff Photographer will help oversee day-to-day operations of all aspects of photography across the organization, with a strong emphasis on game day needs. The Assistant Staff Photographer will cover Boston Red Sox games, events, portraits, products, and other photo shoots as needed. The Assistant Staff Photographer will also assist in managing two photography interns, managing the digital photography archives, fulfilling photo requests, and contributing to club marketing initiatives and multimedia content.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Photograph Boston Red Sox games, events, portraits, and other photo shoots as needed.
• Assist in managing photography staff and freelance photographers in day-to-day photography related operations.
• Edit, caption, keyword, and properly archive and organize all images and files.
• Manage digital photography archive and respond to incoming photography requests.
• Create multimedia content to further Boston Red Sox marketing initiatives.
CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3 to 5 years of professional photography experience preferred
• Ability to work minimum 35 hours a week at Fenway Park, including nights/weekends/holidays as needed throughout the season
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Photo Mechanic, PhotoShelter, Medium, and Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Ability to produce new and original content concepts and work as a team player within Red Sox Brand & Creative team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce content in real-time under short deadlines, organize and prioritize numerous simultaneous projects.
