This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship
BSE Global's (Brooklyn Nets, Long Island Nets, Barclays Center & NYCB LIVE) Summer Internship Program provides an excellent learning environment for students seeking an educational opportunity within the sports and entertainment industry. The Summer Internship Program is an unpaid academic credit-based internship program and will begin on June 3, 2019 and end on August 9, 2019.
The majority of the internship opportunities will be located at our Industry City Corporate Headquarters in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. A small handful of departments and internship opportunities are located on Long Island at Nassau Coliseum. Each intern will be assigned to a specific department in which they will remain for the duration of the program.
We host interns in a variety of departments, including:
Communications (Brooklyn)
Intern will draft press releases, media advisories and pitch letters, monitor media coverage and compile media clips into recap documents. In addition, the intern will work with other members of the department to develop and execute media strategies for various activations and events that involve the Brooklyn Nets, Long Island Nets, Barclays Center, NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and NetsGC. Intern will also work in-tandem with various departments to develop influencer engagement strategies for all aforementioned properties and teams.
Business Operations (Nassau)
Intern will learn the behind-the-scenes workings and administrative responsibilities necessary to support the Business Operations staff of the G-League team through hands-on experience managing equipment needs, player fan mail, coordinating travel logistics, coordinating scouts' schedules, and organizing data for accurate expense reporting.
Facility Operations (Brooklyn)
Intern will gain an understanding of the day to day operations and facility management of a professional sports team and corporate.
Finance (Brooklyn)
Intern will have exposure to projects that include monthly assignments utilizing Excel. This will be in addition to assisting the Accounts Payable clerk with weekly expense reports and for data entry.
Finance Analytics (Brooklyn)
Intern will learn on how to effectively & accurately carry out research and analytical requests for internal departments, and league stakeholders.
Global Partnership Strategy, Sales & Marketing (Brooklyn)
Intern will engage in client research for future targeting. You will have the opportunity to create, manage, and execute onsite activations at Barclays Center and NYCB LIVE, working directly with the Partnership Sales & Marketing team.
Group Sales (Brooklyn)
Intern will learn the overall importance of Ticket Sales as a major revenue stream for sports and entertainment and to learn different ways in which you can incorporate Ticket Sales initiatives amongst the other Non-Sales departments. The intern will also execute fan experience packages during Nets games.
IT/ Help Desk Support (Brooklyn)
Intern will learn how the Help Desk assists employees with desktop computer issues, including software and hardware problems in a mixed PC/Mac environment.
Nets PR (Brooklyn)
Intern will assist in production of media guides, game notes, player bios, and press packets; creating a daily briefing of news clippings to help maintain the team's daily sports information; analyze, track, and upkeep statistics though Excel to compile information for game notes and other media packets. On game days you may be involved in preparing the arena for the media and all PR related events.
Suite Sales (Brooklyn)
Intern will become knowledgeable of Barclays Center suites and have an understanding of the sales process from start to finish. This would include prospecting, pitching, contracts and fulfillment for both leased suites and nightly suite rentals. Tasks may include processing tickets, research projects and providing on-site customer service to clients in premium seating sections.
VIP Sales (Brooklyn)
Intern will become knowledgeable of Nets and Barclays Center Events ticket sales from start to finish (prospecting, pitching, contracts and fulfillment). Tasks include processing tickets, research projects and providing on-site customer service to clients.
Requirements:
• All interns must be enrolled students in an undergraduate program, or students engaged in graduate studies.
• All interns must be eligible to receive academic credit for the internship.
Interview Process
Selected qualified applicants will be screened by HR and followed up with a phone interview with Department Supervisors.
