This is a Full Time Job
The ideal candidate brings credibility, dynamic presentation, warmth and confidence to our newscasts. You must demonstrate the ability to handle breaking news effortlessly or craft stories when time allows. To be considered you must be willing to work any shift and agree to shoot and edit video using a light consumer-grade camera. In addition to on-air duties, this position will represent the duopoly at a variety of public and station events.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Report live and on tape, scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy, and confidence
• Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content
• Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness - Write clearly and interestingly, and use video and graphics to illustrate story facts and ideas
• Deliver strong live shots
• Build sources, generate story ideas, and participate in editorial meetings
Candidates must have:
• Five years’ experience on air, preferably anchoring in a top 20 market.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Social media savviness
• Experience shooting and editing with Prosumer camera
Minimum Education Level:
College degree or equivalent experience
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $250,000.00 - 350,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement
