Meteorologist

WJZ-TV is seeking a seasoned Meteorologist to join our award-winning weather team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Main shift will be on weekends.
• Analyze weather data and synthesize the information into clear, easy to understand weather forecasts.
• Produce clean, creative, and informational graphics that accurately support the weather story.
• Work as part of a team with other meteorologists and weathercasters.
• Present weathercasts from both studio and in the field with our Mobile Weather Lab.
• Required to be a clear communicator and pass valuable information on to all shifts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of experience on-air as a Broadcast Meteorologist.
• Proven ability to post forecasts, graphics, etc. to various digital media platforms.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and fill-in when necessary.
• Experience with Barons Lynx and WSI Weather Technology.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree, in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science, is required.
