Special Projects Producer (part-time)
Job Title: Special Projects Producer (part-time)
Overview & Responsibilities: CBS News Sacramento is looking for a bulldog producer to develop, research, gather elements and collaboratively write for the highly promoted ''Call Kurtis'' consumer franchise which investigates viewer submitted consumer issues. The successful candidate will vet viewer consumer submissions as assigned, gather documentation and visual proof that support the viewers’ consumer complaints and work with agencies and companies on a resolution while looking for a broad reach consumer message to educate our audience.
The successful multi-skilled candidate is expected to approach the job with solutions, stay self-motivated, juggle several stories at once, and turn a story in a day if necessary. The producer will shoot stories utilizing the latest news gathering technology and edit pieces with limited visuals, while creating graphics on Edius editing system.
This is a 16 hour a week position.
Basic Qualifications
Prior experience as a producer, reporter or researcher is required. This is not an entry level position.
• Two or more years-experience in a daily broadcast news operation
• College degree, or working toward a college degree
• Ability to handle multiple tasks including line producing, segment producing, writing, story booking and coordination and use of social media.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $38.46 - 38.46.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
