The CBS Evening News Plus Associate Producer is an essential production level position, which contributes to the broadcast with complex responsibilities and provides excellent opportunities to hone existing journalistic and production skills on a higher-level production at a major network news operation. The ideal candidate is a great teammate who has proven editorial judgement, exhibited news production experience working with editors and producers while working under daily deadlines with a keen ability to multi-task. The role requires a candidate to be detail-oriented and have a passion for current events. The candidate can keep calm under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook while meeting show deadlines.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work with Senior staff and correspondents with coordinating elements for live or taped segments.
• Work with Senior staff and editor to complete packaged story production.
• Exercise editorial judgement in selection of content.
• Participate in the editorial process by contributing, pitching, and developing stories.
• Coordinate news production through by coordinating newsgathering, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
• Exhibited previous experience working on a broadcast or news program for 2-3 years.
• Experience in working with editors or producing elements for a broadcast or news program.
• Exhibited experience in using news judgement in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in field production coordination.
• Comprehensive knowledge of basic journalistic standards and practices.
NOTE: This position is Monday – Friday. This position requires in-person, non-remote, attendance at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 75,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Salary/Benefits
$60,000.00 - 75,000.00 per year
