CBS SATURDAY MORNING is looking for a creative, driven, and diligent Associate Producer to join our team in Washington, D.C.! This exciting role puts you at the heart of national news, where you’ll have the opportunity to help create impactful stories that inform and engage our audience. With a focus on both day-of-air coverage and long-form features, you’ll be a key player in a broadcast that prides itself on originality and journalistic integrity.
As an Associate Producer, you will collaborate with senior producers, correspondents, and editorial teams to deliver thoughtful, high-quality journalism. From producing the weekly White House package to crafting stories that explore the political and human elements of D.C., this position offers a chance to showcase your storytelling talents and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic newsroom.
This role is from Monday to Friday, with Fridays requiring a later shift typically spanning the late afternoon and evening.
Responsibilities:
• Write, produce, and oversee the weekly White House package on Friday evenings.
• Pitch and produce feature segments that highlight the political, cultural, and human impact of events in the DC area.
• Collaborate with correspondents and senior producers to develop and execute engaging, high-quality segments.
• Catch and refine pieces with an editor, ensuring accuracy and high production value.
• Coordinate and conduct interviews while gathering essential visual elements in the field.
• Uphold journalistic standards and maintain a sharp editorial focus on accuracy, clarity, and fairness.
Qualifications:
• 3 years of journalism experience in live television news.
• Proven experience in video production, including working with editors to assemble compelling tape packages and proficiency in story structure, visual elements, and production graphics.
• Clear, engaging, and concise scriptwriting skills, with the ability to capture complex stories in a compelling manner.
• Proven ability to perform effectively in fast-paced situations, managing tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Experience using research tools such as Lexis Nexis.
• A solid understanding of newsgathering and transmission technology.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 75,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
