CBS Sunday Morning is seeking an experienced and creative producer to craft compelling, visually engaging stories that captivate our audience! Success in this role is driven by a sharp editorial sense, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects, balancing fast-turn assignments with in-depth, long-form storytelling.
Producers at Sunday Morning take full ownership of their stories from start to finish. This includes developing original story ideas, conducting thorough research, managing field production, and structuring and writing segments. Collaboration is key, as producers work closely with correspondents, editors, and camera crews to shape narratives and bring them to life. The role involves travel, weekend work, and late nights.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and pitch original story ideas.
• Conduct research and vet potential stories.
• Coordinate shoots, including travel and logistics.
• Oversee field production and work closely with crews.
• Write, structure, and guide the editing of segments.
• Manage production budgets and resources.
• Ensure legal, rights and clearance requirements are met.
• Deliver high-quality segments under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience producing and writing both short- and long-form segments.
• Background in both hard news and feature storytelling.
• Expertise in field production and working with camera crews.
• Exceptional editorial judgment and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work an adaptable schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
Preferred:
• Experience in a high-profile, fast-paced news environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and build positive working relationships.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $125,000.00 - 138,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
