Overview & Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Production for CBS Media Ventures is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of first-run series such as Inside Edition, Entertainment Tonight, The Drew Barrymore Show, Hot Bench, and Flip Side. Reporting to the SVP of Programming Strategy & Digital Networks, the VP will manage production-related activities in collaboration with Executive Producers and Executives in Charge of Production. This includes responsibilities for budget management, staffing, talent, contracts, leasing, and logistical matters.
The VP will also work with divisions such as News and Stations, along with corporate teams responsible for human resources, business affairs, rights and clearances, risk management, sales, labor issues, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of production management for first-run series, ensuring alignment with the creative and logistical needs of each show.
• Collaborate with Executive Producers and other senior executives to manage budgets, contracts, staffing, and talent.
• Manage technical production requirements including studio, remote, and post-production.
• Ensure compliance with labor unions and handle logistical production issues, leveraging significant technical knowledge of production methods.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders and team members, keeping everyone aligned toward shared goals.
• Lead teams by inspiring and motivating, delegating tasks, and making key decisions under pressure.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in television production across various roles, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the production process.
• Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, delegate tasks, and make critical decisions under pressure.
• Strong financial management skills, particularly in budgeting and managing production finances.
• Effective communicator and collaborator with a clear understanding of production goals.
• Significant technical knowledge of studio, remote, post, and remote production methods, including automation.
• Expertise in the latest production technologies and methods.
• Experience working with labor unions and ensuring compliance with union regulations.
Salary & Benefits:
• Hiring Salary Range: $177,000 - $221,000 (applicable to New York, California, Colorado, Washington, and other locations).
