VFX Assistant Editor

Chapeau Studios is seeking a staff VFX Assistant Editor with prior experience in the post production industry.

Assist VFX Artist and Editors by prepping projects, sourcing assets, managing media, creating new projects, rendering and transcoding files, creating and QC'ing deliverables..

Responsibilities

Assist in online finishing, exports and backups.
Work with Premiere on editing tasks such as picture and audio preps
Manage, organize and maintain documents/logs of Client assets per project
Transcribe footage using Descript
Sending files through Frame.io and other media sharing platforms
Collaborate with artists, creative directors, and VFX supervisors
Preparing footage and edits for Artists
Support production teams and senior artists
Overcutting
Resizing aspect ratios
Backing up and Archiving current projects

Qualifications

Ideally would have previously worked at a VFX or Editorial company
Experience in Adobe Premiere, preferably using Teams
Knowledge of Descript and Adobe Suites a plus
Strong organizational skills
Meticulous eye in detail to review spots and provide quality control
Be able to work with short deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Personable and Outgoing
Understanding variety of formats
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems

Experience
Experience working at a VFX or post company
Bachelor's (Required)
