This is a Full Time Paid Internship
Position Overview
Hornets Sports & Entertainment is looking for a college student to serve as an intern for the Creative department. The Graphic Design intern will gain knowledge of printing and graphics. This internship offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of experienced staff members in a dynamic and challenging environment.
This is a non-paid internship where you will need to able to work 20-40 hours per week. You are required to receive academic credit. Hours will include most arena events, throughout the semester that may occur on evenings and/or weekends, including Arena Events and Hornets games.
The Summer 2019 program runs from May 29, 2019 to August 9, 2019.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work load consist of a heavy dose of print projects from flyers, ads, sales slicks, promotional items and more.
• Logo creation, productions design and time management skills are a must for this role
• You will be assisting the design team with larger projects and have the opportunity to participate in group projects.
• Assisting with creation of social media and website graphics.
• Researching and recommending images to use in assigned projects with the ability to mask out player images in Photoshop
• Organizing graphic and photo files for the department
Required Skills
, Experience, and Abilities
To be successful in this position, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
• You must receive college credit
• Majoring in Graphic Design, Graphics, or related field.
• Basic layout design and typesetting.
• The applicant should have at least medium knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator in a MAC environment.
• The applicant will need great communication skills, to be professional and be able to multi-task.
• If you have any experience working for a team, athletic department, or with a sporting event that is beneficial.
• You should be a flexible and reliable member of the team, both within your own department and the company as a whole
