Electrician - Amaluna Touring Show
Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group - Dallas, TX
Cirque du Soleil's Amaluna touring show will be visiting Dallas, Texas in January 2019, and is currently looking for certified Electricians to support it's site and infrastructure operations.
The incumbent will be required to:
• Support the Senior Electrician in the daily maintenance and inspection of electrical equipment;
• Take part in all work, action and operations connected with the marking/setup/tear-down of infrastructure equipment on site;
• Supervise quality maintenance, cleanliness and security on site;
• Apply Cirque du Soleil standards and procedures for a safe working environment;
• Carry out all other tasks assigned by the Site Operations Director.
More specifically, responsibilities include:
• Safely operate generators, electrical equipment and heating/air-conditioning systems in compliance with infrastructure installation and operating procedures set by International Headquarters (IHQ);
• Maintain and repair electrical systems and other structures in compliance with the infrastructure preventive maintenance and inspection program set by IHQ;
• Assist with the setup and tear-down of electrical equipment, heating/air-conditioning systems and other structures in compliance with infrastructure installation and operating procedures set by IHQ;
• Supervise supernumerary personnel during setup and tear-down and for special projects;
• Participate in show call and/or morning inspections on site;
• Apply Cirque du Soleil standards and procedures for a safe working environment;
• Remain on call for emergencies.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Certification in electricity;
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar position;
• Experience with control systems and generators;
• Tour experience an asset;
• Ability to work long hours and under pressure;
• Ability to work well in a team;
• Knowledge of workplace safety and fall prevention;
• Ability to work high above the ground;
• Ability to drive a forklift and operate other heavy machinery;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software for Windows;
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, fluency in French is an asset;
• Available to tour full-time and work in foreign countries.
