Associate Editor, Home & Gifts

This is a Full Time Job

Write, update and ideate home and gifting content for CNN Digital's reviews and recommendations site, CNN Underscored.

The ideal candidate has experience writing and/or editing home and gifting content for a major digital publication and has a knack for understanding consumer online shopping habits; they can easily discern which products should and shouldn't be recommended to our audience (and are particularly Amazon literate). They are keen on social media trends. Knowledge of the commerce and affiliate space is a plus.

The Associate Editor , Home & Gifts will work closely with the Home & Gifts Editor and Senior Lifestyle Editor to determine the best strategies for creating and updating home and gifting content on CNN platforms with the goal of increasing traffic, conversions and revenue.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Write 3-4 stories a week , including updates as needed
• Editing experience is a plus
• Assist Home & Gifts Editor in managing gift guide coverage throughout the year
• Test products and write reviews and expert-recommended stories in the H ome and G ifting verticals
• F acilitate procurement of products for photo shoots and photo and video assets
• Brainstorm story and series ideas on a monthly basis
• Communicate with SEO team to ensure our stories comply with SEO guidance
• Edit images in Photoshop to comply with our style guide
• Keep an eye on social trends (particularly IG/FB/TikTok) and pitch appropriate content/product angles
• Experiment regularly to boost traffic and conversion rates

• Familiar with the latest digital commerce trends
• Strong grasp of the Underscored audience and voice
• Receives work in the form of short-term assignments that regularly require supervisory review
• Operates within the context of defined procedures

Qualifications & Experience…
• College degree
• Must have 2–4 years' experience writing content for a major publisher, ideally product reviews and recommendations (a roster of PR contacts is a plus)
• Flawless grammar & spelling
• Must be proficient in MS Office Suite
• Must be proficient in Photoshop
• Must have strong writing skills and be an innovative thinker
• Must be detail-oriented, organized and have strong communication skills
• Position reports to CNN Underscored Senior Lifestyle Editor

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $47,728.00 - $88,637.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
