This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship
What does our department do?
The Digital Programming team curates and packages CNN's extraordinary content for homepages across desktop and mobile, making it engaging for regular folks.
• We craft and send news alerts and breaking news tweets with an emphasis on accuracy and speed.
• The Programming team plans coverage around major upcoming events.
• Our team uses both editorial judgment and data to drive decision-making.
What will you be doing?
• You will be a hands-on member of the Programming team, helping to cover the world's most important news events for the nation's No. 1 most heavily trafficked source for news and information.
• Help maintain Digital's mission of accuracy.
• Craft headlines to make any story interesting, and execute tests to measure the results.
• Curate related content on article pages to help drive recirculation.
• Package content and help maintain section pages, finding the perfect visuals to go with stories.
• Be part of the planning process for big news events.
• Seize opportunities to create content.
• Identify trends in available data to craft your own research project and suggest action items.
What are we looking for?
• The ideal candidate will have strong editorial judgement and writing skills, an eye for detail and a passion for current affairs. judgement and is a true team player.
• Some journalism experience and an understanding of storytelling is a must.
• You'll work well in a fast-paced environment under pressure and on deadline.
• We're looking for someone who has a desire to experiment and innovate.

• Fall 2018 program dates are September 10th through December 7th.
• Interns are paid at a competitive salary, based on the market of the location and relocation is not provided.
• Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation.
• Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students.
• Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.
