Producer II
The Role:
The Producer II is responsible for executing the video programming strategy across CNN's core platforms—such as desktop web, mobile web, mobile apps, and TV apps—as well as CNN's off-platform accounts, including YouTube and TikTok. This role involves collaborating with the Senior Producer to develop playbooks for digital audiences, managing team assignments, and coaching direct reports for career development.
Responsibilities:
• Program both core and off-platform accounts, monitor content performance, and adjust tactics to meet business goals.
• Collaborate with the global programming team to enhance video content for digital audiences.
• Independently pitch, develop, and execute programming tactics and ideas.
• Manage daily team assignments and lead off-peak shifts, including overnights and weekends.
• Use real-time and historical data to understand video insights and inform programming decisions.
• Manage delivery of sponsorships.
• Lead special event planning and provide logistical support for coverage.
• Encourage team discussions that foster innovation and growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Four-year college degree required; Journalism degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience producing, writing, and editing in a major news market.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing systems.
• Familiarity with data analysis and using insights to guide editorial decisions.
• Excellent communication, news judgment, and headline-writing skills.
• Leadership skills, especially in breaking news situations.
• Ability to make editorial decisions for programming core platforms.
• Flexible and adaptable to rapid changes in news, breaking stories, and multitasking.
Workplace Requirements:
• Must be able to adapt to a 24/7 news environment, working various shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation:
