CNN is looking for a writer/reporter to join the transportation beat in Washington, DC writing and reporting for CNN's digital sites.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Candidate should be an outstanding storyteller with a burning desire to break news and tell stories – whether text or video – in the most compelling ways. Candidate must be able to digest complex transportation news and distill it quickly into clean copy.
• As the transportation reporter, you will be responsible for building tight relationships with sources and breaking news and enterprise stories across the transportation landscape, including road, rail, seas and skies.
• Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and able to find compelling stories and break news that other outlets don't have.
• Act as subject matter expert on all transportation matters at the network.
• The job includes working closely with Pete Muntean, CNN's transportation correspondent.
• Craft stories that meet CNN's highest journalistic standards.
Qualifications & Experience…
• The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of aviation, including flight tracking data, air traffic control scanners, and FAA databases.
• Typically has 3 or more years of progressively complex related experience.
• Open to traveling when necessary
• College degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Expert writing skills a must.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $71,399.00 - $132,597.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
