Paralegal
Your role as a Paralegal:
You will assist the Vice President, General Counsel in all facets of the company's broad range of legal needs including, without limitation, contracts, transactional documents, litigation, corporate compliance, risk management, workers' compensation, and administrative support. The position requires the ability to demonstrate sound judgment, organizational skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, teamwork, and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
Some of the responsibilities we will trust you with:
• Drafting and reviewing a variety of different types of contracts such as: sponsorship agreements, event contracts, NDAs, consulting agreements, waivers, and releases;
• Assisting in tracking the status of all contracts such as: following redlines, ensuring execution, and monitoring applicable deadlines;
• Maintain the Department's filing system and other information archives to centralize and streamline key templates, policies, and procedures;
• Managing and providing support for Club's workers' compensation claims including, without limitation, interfacing with insurance representatives, risk advisors, and medical staff and providing support with file management, discovery, and deadline management;
• Providing litigation support such as document intake, discovery, and deadline management;
• Providing litigation support for workers' compensation claims including, but not limited to, California Cumulative Trauma Claims;
• Interacting with Club's outside counsel, lobbyists, insurers, and advisors;
• Maintaining and filing corporate governance records;
• Supporting Club's risk management program including, but not limited to, collecting and reviewing certificates of insurance;
• Managing department operations and develop new process improvement initiatives;
• Providing administrative support to Vice-President, General Counsel including, but not limited to, calendaring, travel schedule, and expense management;
• Monitoring and reviewing legal budget and invoices;
• Other duties and administrative tasks as requested; and
• Representing the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
• Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, printer, phone, and computer. Experience with legal research a plus.
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others across all departments in a collaborative, respectful manner.
• Ability to effectively draft and proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task, and manage projects on strict deadlines.
• Ability to provide exceptional service to Club's various departments.
• Demonstrate ability to maintain strictest confidentiality in all aspects of job duties.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions that require independent judgement, initiative, and tact.
• Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability.
• Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
You will be required to meet the following:
• Minimum 5 years previous paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program.
• Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree, and/or combination of experience.
• Able to work on-site full-time.
Salary and additional compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $80,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education,
