Overview and Responsibilities
Comedy Central is seeking a publicist with experience on scripted series to join the team responsible for the creation and implementation of consumer publicity campaigns for all scripted series produced by Comedy Central, Paramount Network and TV Land including, but not limited to, existing series such as Yellowstone, Younger, South Park, The Other Two, South Side, Corporate, and the forthcoming Emily in Paris, 68 Whiskey, Coyote, Sexy Beast, Paradise Lost, Awkwafina is Nora from Queens, and Robbie.
The ideal candidate should have experience in entertainment publicity and be a fast paced, strategic thinker with the ability to collaborate across the company. He or she should possess a history of shown success in executing campaigns for scripted series, along with creativity in using new tactics and tools to communicate internally and externally. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Implement multiplatform publicity campaigns for all scripted initiatives across the three entertainment brands – Comedy Central, Paramount Network, and TV Land.
• Coordinate interviews and press junkets with talent and executives, prioritize and lead on-set press during series production, arrange photo shoots and appearances.
• Build and edit press materials for projects.
• Integrate and promote brand messaging in pitches/stories.
• Build and maintain strong media relationships with premier press across multiple disciplines including entertainment, television, and technology.
• Stay informed on industry news and flag issues and trends to team in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications
• Strong and established media relationships in television, entertainment, digital media
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience writing press releases, pitches, PR plans and media strategies
• Minimum 4 years in publicity or related field; in-house experience a plus
Additional Qualifications
• Must be highly collaborative, flexible and adaptable and a self-starter who is able to provide and receive mentorship and initiative
• Capacity to work in a fast paced environment while remaining committed to deadlines
• Tech-savvy with a proven understanding of the television, media, digital, mobile, social landscape
• Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends for screenings, events, conferences, press junkets, etc.
