Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a background in the music or entertainment industry to support our financial operations. This role will be instrumental in managing the company's day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This role will be based out of our Beverly Hills office, with an in-office presence required 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
-Manage accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), payroll, and other general ledger (GL) accounts.
-Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports, ensuring financial accuracy.
-Oversee the processing of invoices, bills, and payments, working with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
-Maintain financial records and ensure proper reconciliation of balance sheets.
-Record transactions and maintain accounting records in NetSuite.
-Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
-Provide budget vs. actual analysis, variance analysis, and financial reporting for management.
-Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and tax requirements.
-Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals.
-Support ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as needed.
Requirements
-2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the music or entertainment industry.
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA is a plus).
-Strong knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific accounting principles (ASC 926, ASC 985-20, ASC 606, etc.).
-Experience managing AR/AP, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.
-Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting/financial management software.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
-Experience with royalty accounting and music-specific revenue recognition is a plus.
-Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
-Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate cross-functionally.
-A high level of integrity and discretion when handling financial information.
-Passion for music and the entertainment industry, with an understanding of its unique financial aspects.
Salary/Benefits
