Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Management Specialist with a focus on data handling, LTO archiving, and IT tasks to support our film data operations. In this role, you will work with a variety of data systems to ensure proper management, storage, and archiving of crucial data. The ideal candidate will have experience with LTO (Linear Tape-Open) archiving technology, a keen eye for detail, and a self-starter with the desire to work in a dynamic, in-person environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of LTO tape archiving processes.
• Ensure the accurate and timely storage of data, including film-related media and backups.
• Perform light IT duties such as troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to archiving and data management.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement data management strategies.
• Work directly with film production teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Maintain, organize, and catalog archived data for easy retrieval and long-term preservation.
• Handle any on-site IT and data-related support tasks, as required.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with industry standards for data storage, security, and archival processes.
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in LTO (Linear Tape-Open) archiving technology and best practices.
• Basic IT knowledge with an understanding of data management tools and systems.
• Experience in data management within the film or media industry (preferred but not required).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, in-person environment.
• Willingness to work on-site and contribute to a team-focused atmosphere.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with film production data systems and workflows.
• Familiarity with data storage solutions, backup systems, and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of file formats, video codecs, and digital media workflows used in film production.
