Director of Feature & TV Contests for a screenwriting platform that helps emerging screenwriters break into the Film and TV industry.
* The position will be working remotely and open to candidates throughout the USA.
* Hours and all responsibilities to be discussed - but approx 20hrs per week.
Job Overview
The Director of Feature and TV Contests administrates all aspects of the daily operations of our Feature, and TV Pilot Contest.
You will be responsible for strategic and tactical management to ensure that contest submissions reach their required targets and that entrants are satisfied with their contest experience. You will ensure our company is professionally represented within the industry by the use of accurate information, consistent marketing, and appropriate representation to third parties.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Planning and marketing the contests via our website, Coverfly, FilmFreeway, and other listings and forums.?
• Administrating contest submissions via all the submission platforms and resolving problems with submissions and Feature and TV inquiries via email.?
• Involvement in QA'ing shortlisted projects to ensure the best feature and tv pilot screenplays make it through each round. -
• Deciding upon and notifying contest entrants of their placings, awarding prizes, and liaising with contest Judges and Mentors.?
• Oversees associated social media and newsletter marketing and manages cross-promotional partnerships.?
• Manages content production in the form of articles, guides, and screenplay collections and updates to the website.?
• Works with freelance staff as and when needed.
• Produce bullet point weekly management updates via email.
Qualifications?
• Experience in script reading and how the film and tv industry works, especially in the USA.
• Experience in an administration role, and reporting to senior staff.
• Able to communicate across a wide subject area and with a diversity of colleagues at all levels.
• A keen problem solver who is adept at multi-tasking.
• Experience in confidential record keeping and information management to facilitate collaborative remote working with other team members and professional colleagues based around the world.
• Flexible self-management of working hours, able to work with little supervision to meet company and contest deadlines including some working at weekends.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google apps including Docs, Gmail, Drive, Meet, Google Analytics, Drive, and Looker Studio.
• Familiar with social media platforms and online marketing applications such as Mailerlite, and WordPress.
• Experience in using screenwriting/filmmaking platforms such as Coverfly and FilmFreeway.
• Excellent written and spoken English - US preferred.
• Understanding of how to track budgets and execute project management.
