This is a Freelance Job
Hi there!
We are currently producing a docu-drama featuring famous rock/jazz musicians. We're in the early stages of post and are seeking an up-and-coming film editor to join our team.
We are looking for an editing intern interested in earning academic credits and deferred compensation. Payment will be provided upon the successful sale of the project, reflecting the work contributed. We are estimating this project will take 8-10 weeks, which will, of course, depend on the applicant's timing and availability.
This opportunity would be perfect for a student looking for a stepping stone into the documentary/film industry. We are creating a sizzle reel and potentially editing a 60-minute pilot episode of the limited series.
The ideal candidate should be:
Self-motivated and able to work independently (we'll guide but won't micromanage).
Passionate about storytelling and eager to showcase their editing talent on a real-world project.
Passionate about music- rock, jazz, blues, fusion -which is central to the project's narrative.
Producers have worked on documentaries such as Cellblocks to Mountaintops podcast and video series, Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts (PBS), the four-part series Hacking Your Mind (PBS), Guys N' Divas: Battle of the High School Musicals (Lionsgate/Showtime), and Beyond the Mat (Imagine Ent/Universal),
Please email your resume, any reels or projects you have to share, and let us know what software you are currently using.
Even though the holidays are upon us, we want to begin looking at interested candidates now and throughout January. The current post-production schedule starts in February 2025.
We appreciate your time and support!
