Intern - Composing/Sound Design

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

Internship Start Date/Season: Starts immediately
Internship Duration: 3 months
Time/Days Required: 20 hours a week, meeting every Wednesday at 5 pm PST

We are looking for a sound designer/composer to join our ongoing internship. You will be contributing to an ongoing project led by our intern team. The final project will be an animated short film. Juniors and Seniors are preferred, but graduate students and recent graduates are also welcomed to apply.

Our company has produced film and television projects that have gone on to be nominated at leading festivals and competitions (Golden Globes, Tribeca Film Festival, Sedona, etc.). The internship is fully remote, and interns are expected to have a working computer with access to their needed software. Sound editing will be done in Blender.

Interns are expected to attend weekly meetings to share updates with the team. We will occasionally have guest speakers from the entertainment industry. Interns are expected to come to guest speaker sessions and be engaged (listen, ask questions). We need someone with a can-do attitude and an eagerness to learn. Other learning opportunities will be provided.

Responsibilities
• Find/create unique sounds to enhance the storytelling experience
• Collaborate closely with non-audio interns (e.g. animation interns)
• Knowledge of sound editing (levels, mixing, etc).
• Create an original score/main theme for the short film

Skills
• Familiar with Blender and sound editing software
• Self-motivated
• Team player
• Willing to collaborate

Professional experience is not necessary. We're looking for students or recent graduates who are looking to be part of our first year of short film interns.
